Nabaztag is a Wi-Fi–connected, rabbit-shaped smart object released by Violet in 2005. With ear movements, LEDs, and a speaker, it delivered weather, news, and mail alerts—an early IoT icon. The 2006 Nabaztag:tag added a mic and RFID. After official servers ended, it still runs via OpenJabNab; with Wizz.cc setup it works today. About 150k units sold. Violet was acquired in 2009; in 2011 the code was released and service ended. A revival board, TagTagTag, keeps the community alive.
